Happy International Women's Day! International Women's Day is a global celebration of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women, first started in 1911 by the Suffragettes. Celebrated every year on March 8th by governments, companies, organizations and communities across the world, International Women's Day is especially important to the National Holistic team.

As of 2017, owner and CEO of National Holistic Healing Center, Dr. Chanda Macias, is one of three black women in the entire country to own a dispensary. Dr. Chanda's passion, drive and accomplishments continue to inspire the rest of our team each and every day. She is a former research specialist for Colgate Palmolive Company, sits on the board of the Minority Cannabis Business Association, holds leadership positions with several other business groups, attends speaking engagements across the nation, and was recently named Women Grow's Chairwoman of the Board.

This year's theme for International Women's Day is "Press for Progress." This rings true for all aspects of life and business, especially in the cannabis industry. The World Economic Forum's 2017 Global Gender Gap Report shows that gender parity is 200 years away. While these findings are extremely disheartening, we all must find the momentum to press forward to fight for women's equality. As the cannabis industry evolves, we must push for a strong, inclusive, and diverse community of entrepreneurs and leaders.

The National Holistic team is proud of our CEO, Dr. Chanda Macias today and every day. We invite our patients to join us as we continue to #PressforProgress!
